Sorry everyone for not being able to update anytime earlier but I have finally been given the chance. We are in the city and are doing the homestays and thus far everything has run smooth. We have many pictures for when we get back and the kids athough tired and bitten by mosquitoes are having a great time. We certainly saw the exhaustion kick in today when most of the kids woke up unexpectedly by the roosters in our neighborhood. The group is getting along well and although we'll be back in less than three days the kids are going to miss it. I haven't heard a bad thing yet and that is great. No injuries thus far and prayerfully there won't be but keep praying for us. Tonight we'll be going around with Vida Joven and evangelizing in the neighborhood. I hope all is well at home and we will see you soon. Muchos Besos de el grupo.

Hey team just doing the final update before we leave for the good ol' Dominican Republic. Remember we are leaving from terminal 3 with Delta Airlines at 4:45 AM. Please do not be late because you are only going to be holding us from checking in. If you need to know what to pack please contact eachother if you don't have the list. Bring work shoes. If you have things to donate to the camp just bring it along in your luggage. If you have a gift for the homestays please make sure not to give anything to ostentatious for fear of jealousy between the community. Remember passports. If there is an EMERGENCY call me at home. And get yourself pumped because in only a few hours you will be on a plane on your way to being in the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC (Hooray!).

...Thanks to those who are actually using the website I appreciate it. For those who missed Sunday we are having a meeting on Sunday March 3rd @ 3:30 PM in front of the gym, and it is mandatory so if you can't be there talk to me or call me. We will be going over all of the information already covered, any concerns, we will be praying for our trip as a team, we will further discuss team fundraising as well as personal fundraising. Team bonding will be a topic so come with ideas and please try to be there. Bring your signed paperwork for the trip and if you don't already have it get your passport. Start getting all your things together and get ready because we are going garage sale-ing. We'll find out a good day in March for all of us and we will set up a garage sale so be ready for that, and don't be scared to ask for donations. Also the idea of a dinner was thrown out there so be thinking of who we could invite and what we could serve. Also the idea for ice skating as a team bonding deal sounded alright by me so it's on also in the month of March. The next deposit is for the amount of 200 dollars and is due next week on Sunday so if you haven't already get those letters out and start that fundraising. Our next meeting will be announced soon so keep checking back.

Many of you are asking about Acidophilus. Here is the scoop... many travel sites recommend taking acidophilus two weeks prior to travel into 3rd world countries to help fend of stomach & intestinal illnesses.

The other question that is coming up is "Do we need to take Malaria pills? According to Young Life, NO.

This comes directly from Young Life's leadership information they sent me: "You DO NOT need malaria prevention pills. Your group will not be near any areas that pose malaria risk."
